Are Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax Diesel Shocks Different From Gas?

Model: 2010 Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax Diesel 4x4
Question: I have a 2010 Silverado 2500 4x4 with the Duramax Diesel and I need shocks. It is stock ride height I use it for work in the summer and plowing in the winter. I don't see any difference in shocks for the Duramax diesel vs the gas powered 2500 4x4. Do they use the same shocks? I need something strong because they diesel is so heavy, what shocks do you recommend?

Answer: The 2000 - 2010 Chevy Silverado 2500 4x4 uses the same shocks whether it is powered by the Duramax diesel or the gasoline engine. We recommend the Bilstein Heavy Duty for trucks that are used for towing, hauling or work. The Bilstein shocks for the Chevy 2500 are designed to keep your truck smooth and in control even when towing a heavy trailer or loaded to the max, so the weight difference between the gasoline and diesel engines doesn't make that much of a difference to these shocks.
