Question:
My four door, 4.0 litre jeep does on and off road work, tows a small boat (under 1000 lbs), and transports several people, dogs, and equipment to campsites. I am hoping that the Rancho RS5000 series shocks, parts RS5128 and RS5129, are appropriate for the SPORT edition of the 2000 Cherokee, as I did not see it specified on the compatibility list. I'd appreciate your input.
Answer:
The sport models of Cherokees use the same shocks as stanbdard models, so the Rancho RS500s RS5128 and RS5129 will fit your Jeep and will give you more control than your worn out stock shocks, but if you want to upgrade to give your Jeep more control with all the extra weight you're towing/hauling, I suggest the Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks, they are a high pressure monotube that are valved stiffer than the Ranchos to keep you stable for towing, hauling and light offroading.
