This maybe one of the worst ways to lose a drag race. Just think of all the other thing that could go wrong. The possibilities are endless! After the green light drops you only have a split second to correct any problems before the run is a total loss. The driver of this G/CM '69 Camaro Brad Zaskowski learned this the hard way when his steering wheel came off in his hands on the launch.
Like any true driver Brad never took his foot off the pedal. After brad got over the shock of holding his steering wheel in his hands mid run he proceed to lock the steering wheel back on the shaft. Brad never took his foot off the throttle and chased the car in the other lane down even though he had no control for 3/4 of the run. Please don't mind the choice words at the end of the video but if you have ever raced you would understand where it came from.
