Weepage vs Leakage
Weepage vs Leakage
A common issue we have customers call us about is when new shocks appear to be leaking oil or hydraulic fluid. However, this is rarely an actual problem. What these customers are seeing is not a case of the shock leaking, but what is known as Weepage.
Weepage occurs when a small amount of fluid escapes under normal usage. In new shocks, it usually due to an excess of fluid seeping out from the new shock having been "topped off" in the manufacturing process.
