For owners of the Toyota 4-Runner with the X-REAS system, replacing the factory shocks is an expensive job. In addition to replacing the factory specialized shocks, the rest of the X-REAS hydraulic system must be serviced at the same time. Fortunately, replacing the X-REAS shocks with standard affordable shocks is a fairly simple process.
The Bilstein B8 5100 is a high-pressure monotube shock specifically built and valved for the Toyota 4-Runner. The front 5100 is adjustable with multiple snap-ring grooves that allow different spring seat positions, letting you maintain stock height or to lift up to 2.5".
This packages contains all of the parts you will need to replace the X-REAS shocks with standard ones. The X-REAS hydraulic system should be drained of oil and the hose ends tied off to complete the install.
