Monroe Steering Stabilizers
Monroe Steering Stabilizers
The Monroe steering stabilizer stops vibration before it gets to the driver. It is ideally suited for trucks, vans, and 4-wheel drive vehicles.
Monro steering stabilizers increase control under all driving conditions by reducing steering shimmy and driver fatigue. Additionally, they can reduce tire wear and protect front-end components from premature wear.
Includes: All Weather Fluid: Special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction. Sintered Iron Piston: Stronger than traditional metals, enhances durability for long service life. 1/2" Piston Rod: Heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod for long service life. Micro-Cellular Gas Design: Allows unit to be mounted horizontally. Special Seal: "Self-lubricating" fluid seal designed to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.
Don't for get to order a new Monroe Boot SA1997 for added protection to the piston rod (when available).
Monroe Spring Over Steering Stabilizers Specifically Designed for Heavy Truck Self-Steering Drop Axles
Special shock absorber applications such as horizontally mounted dampers are typical on self-steering drop axles used on both over-the-road and severe duty applications such as cement mixers. These shocks are especially susceptible to shock body dents, leakage, dirt, and debris buildup leading to bushing, seal, and piston rod deterioration that result in poor performance and/or premature shock failure.
For your safety and the beating these shocks endure, Monroe has developed the Gas-Magnum Spring-Over Steering Stabilizer. Significantly more durable than OE and competitor's units, the thicker chrome rod, large piston bore, large oil chamber and thicker tube wall provide maximum durability. They also incorporate a long, impact resistant, plastic dirt shield to provide maximum protection to the shock, virtually eliminating the build-up of debris and premature rod, coil spring, and seal damage.
Some of these heavy Truck parts may require some special technical specifications and the original OE part number to choose the right one. Please check Monroe's PDF catalog for more information.
